Teeth Whitening

What is teeth whitening?

Teeth whitening lightens teeth that have darkened or become stained over time by several shades using special gels. No tooth structure is removed; the stain pigments are broken down to restore the tooth's natural whiteness.

Who is it suitable for?

  • People with discoloration from tea, coffee, smoking or aging
  • People with healthy teeth and gums whose cavities have been treated
  • Anyone who wants to lighten their tooth color before a smile design

It is not performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, on patients under 16, or on those with severe sensitivity. Artificial surfaces such as fillings, crowns and veneers are not affected by whitening.

Whitening methods

In-office whitening

After the gums are covered with a protective barrier, a whitening gel is applied to the teeth. Noticeable results are achieved in a session of about one hour.

At-home whitening

Custom-made clear trays are worn for set hours with a gel provided by your dentist. Results appear gradually over 1–2 weeks.

What should I pay attention to afterward?

  • Avoid tea, coffee, cola, red wine and smoking for the first 48 hours.
  • Temporary sensitivity may occur; you can use a toothpaste for sensitive teeth.
  • Regular brushing and a checkup every 6 months help your results last longer.
